So, after far to little sleep (again), this time because I was playing cards with three Australians and two Germans, I took the metro to the train station a bit earlier than I needed to simply because I was awake. I bought myself an overpriced soda and was settling in on a bench to wait it out when suddenly everyone started booking it for the doors.
I figured that was as good a cue as any and followed along.
As it turns out, a mentally disturbed Moroccan man told fellow train passengers that he had a bomb and was going to commit suicide. Considering that this same train station was hit with a bombing in 2004 the Spanish don't fuck around with terrorist threats and had the place evacuated in minutes.
Of course I only got the details later but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put the pieces together when you're excavated out of a train station and made to stand down the block for an hour.
In the end it turned out to be a false alarm but I'll happily take the delay for the sake of taking that kind of thing seriously.
Have I mentioned that Spain really, really isn't my country?

Fingers crossed Córdoba is less exciting?
