Well, I'm doing it! At the moment I'm in San Francisco Airport's International terminal, and true to form have successfully located a bar where I'm fortifying myself with Bloody Mary's. Now that air travel has officially lost any and all semblance of glamour or enjoyment, I prefer to pour myself onto the plane with a healthy dose of vodka and vitamin C. Airborne and Emergen-C be damned, my traveling immune system has improved markedly since my 21st birthday.
And in case anyone is wondering, no, it has 100% not sunk in that I have no idea when I'm coming home. I'm thinking the holy shit moment will come soon enough.
So, first stop Dublin! Have I done my homework and know all the places I must go to in the two short days I have there? Not exactly. I've never been much of a planner. Obviously Guinness is of utmost priority. Obviously. And I'm under strict orders from my brother Ryd-man to send pictures of everything I eat. Not that I need additional encouragement for that.
Leaving is bittersweet. I already miss family, friends, pets, my bed... But I'm pretty sure the adventure is worth the price. I am so thankful for all the love and support from my loved ones; don't worry, you'll all be there with me!
Well, I'd better get going, but here's a couple silly goodbye pics with dad and brothers to keep you until Ireland.
